Effective August 21, 2026
Mactorran Studios Presents — Privacy Policy
1. Information we collect
When you submit a film, we collect the information you provide, which may include filmmaker name, email, optional phone number, optional website or profile information, film details, private screener URL, optional screener password, trailer and promotional links, and other submission notes. We also store the four acknowledgements made with the submission.
For abuse prevention and security, the application may process basic request information and store a one-way hashed version of an IP address rather than the raw address with a submission. Administrator accounts include account information and a securely hashed password. Administrator access uses session cookies. A guest’s choice to enter the film library is stored in that browser’s session storage so the entrance prompt is not repeatedly shown during the same browsing session.
2. How we use information
We use information to receive and privately evaluate film submissions, communicate with filmmakers, administer submission decisions, operate and secure the service, prevent duplicate or abusive requests, manage films and screenings, troubleshoot problems, and meet reasonable legal or administrative needs.
Private screener information is used for private submission review. Optional screener passwords are encrypted by the application before storage. Encryption reduces risk but does not make any system absolutely secure.
3. Service providers and external services
Information may be processed by hosting, database, infrastructure, and other service providers needed to operate the site. The current database is hosted through Supabase. Public films may use embedded video providers such as YouTube or Vimeo. Those providers may receive technical information when their player loads and handle it under their own privacy practices.
Sign-in, account creation, and other links may lead to the main Mactorran Studios website or another external service. Presents does not currently share a public viewer login session with the main site.
4. How we share information
We do not make private submission details or screener passwords available on public routes. Information may be shared with service providers that help operate the service, with people authorized to review or administer submissions, when directed by the submitter, or when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or secure the service.
5. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the current service, including restricted administrator access, password hashing for administrator accounts, application-level encryption for screener passwords, server-side validation, and abuse-prevention controls. No transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
6. Retention and deletion
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to evaluate and administer submissions, operate and secure the service, maintain necessary records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Retention may differ by record type and submission status. When information is no longer reasonably needed, we may delete or de-identify it.
7. Your choices
You may choose not to provide optional submission fields. You may request withdrawal of a pending submission or ask a privacy question by contacting us. Browser controls can clear session storage and cookies, although doing so may reset the guest prompt or end an administrator session. Requests may be limited where information must reasonably be retained for security, legal, or administrative purposes.
8. Children’s privacy
The service is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate authorization. If you believe a child provided personal information improperly, contact us so the situation can be reviewed. Filmmakers should not submit personal information about minors unless they are authorized to do so.
9. Changes and contact
This policy may be updated as the service and its practices change. The effective date above identifies this version. Privacy questions and requests may be sent to patrick@mactorranstudios.com.
